What we keep, and why.

Who operates this

What we collect when you contribute

• What you write or choose in the form: the piece or your offer to help, any public links you add, whether the material is your own, shared with permission or a recommended source, and any optional context (community, broad place, original language, who taught it, whether it is still practised).
• How you want to be credited, and the display name or pseudonym you choose — or your choice to withhold a name.
• One private contact (email or another contact you give). This is never published.
• Your answer to the safety question about material that should not be public, and any short note.
• Your review permission, with the version of the wording you agreed to and the time you agreed.
• A reference number, the time received, and the text direction you chose.

We store your wording exactly as you sent it. We do not edit it in place, generate summaries or voices from it, or fetch the links you provide automatically.

What we do not collect

• No account, password or legal name.
• No precise location. We ask for a broad place or region only, and you may leave it blank.
• No ethnicity or religion of you personally. The community field is about the piece, not about you, and we do not infer either from your name, language or location.
• No raw IP address is stored with a submission. For abuse protection the server keeps a salted hash of the connecting address, tied to the current day, for up to 24 hours; it cannot be turned back into the address and is not linked to your submission.

Why

To read what you sent, to decide whether it could become part of the atlas, and to talk with you about it. Sending the form gives permission for private editorial review and for us to contact you about that submission. It is not permission to publish. Publication, credit and any reuse are agreed with you separately, in writing, before anything appears.

Who can see it

The project owner and the editors working on the archive, through an authenticated database console. Submissions are not listed anywhere public, and there is no public way to check whether a particular person has contributed.

Service providers

• Cloudflare — hosts the website, runs the form's server code, stores submissions (Cloudflare D1) and provides the human-verification step (Cloudflare Turnstile). Turnstile runs a short check in your browser; its own privacy terms apply to that step.
• Owner notification — when a submission arrives, the owner may receive a private message containing only the reference number and the type of submission (never the text or your contact). Channel used: [to be confirmed before intake opens — private Telegram message or email].

How long

Proposed rule for the founding edition: submissions that have not been selected for editorial work are reviewed after 90 days and then either deleted or kept only with your renewed permission. Selected submissions are kept while the editorial work and any agreed publication last. Retention choice: [to be confirmed before intake opens].

Withdrawing, changing or asking

Use your reference number and the contact above. You can withdraw a submission at any time; we then stop editorial work on it and delete it, unless something has already been published under a separate written agreement, in which case we discuss the published record with you.

Sacred, restricted or sensitive material

Please do not send it at this stage. If your piece touches on such material, say so in the safety question in general terms. Anything flagged is held back from any editorial selection until we have spoken with you and, where relevant, with the community concerned.
